Altitude Control Valve - Main Product Image

Automatic level control valve maintaining constant water altitude in tanks and reservoirs

Overview

An Altitude Control Valve (ACV) is a hydraulically operated, self-actuated control valve designed to maintain a constant water level in elevated tanks, reservoirs, or sumps by automatically modulating the flow.

The valve ensures automatic filling and level control based on the altitude (height) of water in the tank, eliminating the risk of overflow or dry running.

Altitude Control Valves are widely used in municipal water supply, irrigation networks, and industrial storage systems for reliable and maintenance-free operation.

Key Features

  • Automatic level control
  • Prevents overflow and dry running
  • Smooth proportional operation
  • Fully automatic operation
  • Energy-free operation

Working Principle

The valve operates automatically using line pressure and a remote float or level-sensing pilot:

  • As the water level in the tank drops below the set point, the float or level pilot signals the valve to open gradually, allowing water to enter.
  • As the water level rises toward the desired altitude, the valve modulates toward closing, controlling inflow and preventing overflow.
  • Once the preset level is reached, the valve remains closed, maintaining the water at the set altitude automatically.

This automatic modulation ensures smooth, precise level control without external power or manual intervention.

Key Functions

  • Maintains constant water level in tanks and reservoirs
  • Prevents overflow and dry running
  • Smooth and proportional valve operation
  • Reduces water hammer and pipe stress
